ABOUT MIDWEST JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL

Midwest Junior Volleyball was founded in 1983 as a member of AAU. Since that time, Midwest Junior Volleyball has held
memberships in USA Volleyball and JVA. Several of our board members served on the staff of the AAU National
Championships, held at Benedictine University (formerly Illinois Benedictine College) from 1979-1994.

In 1995 the AAU Nationals event moved out of state and was converted to the Asics Jr National Championships hosted at
College of DuPage from 1995-2002, raising funds for their athletic department. Due to explosive growth, the 2002 event
moved to McCormick Place, Chicago. It was the first sports event in Volleyball to be hosted at McCormick Place.

In 2009, the Asics Championships moved to its permanent home at beautiful Navy Pier in Chicago. In addition to the
Asics Junior National Championships, Midwest Jr Volleyball hosted successfully the Mayor Daley Holiday Sports Festival
from 2001-2010 at Christmas time. It was lauded as a highly successful all sports Christmas event open to the public for
free.

Our mission is to provide opportunities to help students earn tuition dollars/part time jobs to play travel volleyball or
other sports by engaging them in sporting event management. We also provide opportunities for athletes to assist in
hosting these events to raise funds for their schools and organizations. Over the years, athletes have raised funds for
schools such as College of DuPage, Elmhurst College, Olivet Nazarene University, St. Francis University, Lewis University,
West Chicago HS and St. Luke’s Ministry amongst many other organizations.

The current Board of Directors includes: Deb DiMatteo, Lara Aprati, George DiMatteo, Caitlin O’Hara, Danielle Cline, and
Wendy Rochon.

Deb DiMatteo, President, is a long-time member of USA Volleyball, Great Lakes Region, 37-year career as a retired
